You suspect your pet has ingested a foreign body, harmful chemicals, human medications, or toxic plants
Trauma from a fall or being hit by a moving vehicle
Extreme pain, causing whining or shaking
Distended (swollen) and tense abdomen
Uncontrolled or prolonged vomiting and/or diarrhea
Difficult labor (prolonged straining without delivering puppies or kittens)
Any significant change in behavior
